Rug is beautiful. Lays pretty flat right away with a felt rug pad underneath. It is on the thinner side so you definitely want a felt rug pad. It is actually pretty soft to the touch (way softer than a jute or sisal rug). It doesn’t smell at all and was packaged well with several moisture absorbing packets. I wasn’t super impressed. It is cute though! It’s just insanely hard to clean, and not soft at all. Hearty- in a sense it feels like it can take a beating with toys and animals etc. but definitely a rough fabric that’s hard to clean (with vaccume and cleaner) I kept it because it elevated my sons bedroom!
