Great downdraft vent! Rises high enough to pull most smoke and steam away from all pans, much of it from the front burners, but the back burners are a no-brainer - nothing escapes, especially when the fan is turned to high. Fan control is smoothly variable from almost silent to roaring hurricane strength. Recommend that you use a large diameter vent to the outside to prevent back pressure (we have a 6" adapted down at the fan). I searched for literally hours for a range hood that had a CFM higher than 800, was 36" but didn't have the touch screen controls. I finally came across this range hood option since it was very decently priced. Overall, we are very happy with it especially considering what it costs. Range hoods can get quite speedy. My favorite thing about it is the real buttons! They are placed in a great spot and are super easy to turn off and on. The lights also work wonderfully. It works good getting the smells out. I would say the only con is it is a bit loud, even on the lowest fan but even with that, I would still really recommend this hood. Many viewers complained about the grates coming in a white color and not stainless steel as advertised - please note, they aren't white. Good quality product. Solid tight fan motor that spins easily and for a long time, indicates great fan motor quality. Really do like the ease for removing and installing metal meshed filters -- good quality feel. Fan is quieter than previous unit and has much greater air flow as well. On aberration is one the lowest setting for LED lights, they flicker. If one sets on middle setting and let light heat up first, then put on low, the flicker goes away. Summit's under cabinet convertible range hoods offer versatile ventilation solutions for every kitchen space. Model H36RSS is a 36" wide range hood. It features an attractive stainless steel finish with a horizontal grain. We include a pre-installed light bulb to illuminate your cooking surface. The 2-speed fan is easily managed by a rocker switch with a high and low ventilation setting. This hood is convertible for horizontal or vertical ducted ventilation or ductless/recirculating ventilation where no exhaust connection to the outside is available. It ships ready for standard 3 1/4" x 10" rectangular ducting, but it can be used with a round 6" or 7" duct with the addition of a transition (not included). We include a metal mesh filter to catch grease and a charcoal filter to absorb smoke and odors when using in recirculating applications. This unit does not include a power cord and is designed to be hard-wired by a licensed professional.
