I have been eyeing Hestan for a year or more. I know it’s pricey. But for me I am almost 40. My husband and I have been married for over a year and our current pot and pan situation is a mix from our college days and donations from various family members trying to rid of their old pots and pan. You know how that goes. So I have been doing investigations on the best pans in the market. Making my various pro and con lists. I was considering scan pan. But with Hestan. Yes it’s a lot. But I won’t be replacing them in 5-10 years from now. They are meant to last. Per all the reviews. I know I want pan that I put in the dishwasher and don’t have to worry about it being injured from my amateur cooking skills. I love the feel of the pan. The handle all of that. When I picked up the all clads in the store they are too like straight or not like ergonomic for my petite frame. I want to eventually get the whole set of pans. But since we were moving. And my husbands old saucepan had been beaten up and the non stick wearing off. I was like ok time to try the 1.5 qt. I had a wayfair coupon and wedding money to spend. On something that is essential to my kitchen. It has cleaned up beautifully in the dishwasher. I only wash the lid by hand since that isn’t nanobond. The saucepan. Had little water marks coming out of the dishwasher which I don’t mind but they do have a polish they sell if you are displaying your pots. I heated up some brown sugar and butter. Which turned out great. Only tip I got from Hestan when I called about the different pans. Was it you have an electric stove with coils. I cannot believe this is not Teflon! I emailed viking and they told me this is 99 titanium a tiny amount of silicone oxide on the cooking surface. I tried frying egg with a teaspoon of avocado oil, the egg slid smoothly as if Teflon. Then I tried with no oil at all. It did not slide freely but with help of a silicone turner the egg still released flawlessly. (See the 2 photos I attached). these pans are absolutely perfect. the quality seems to be very high, they are sturdy and the coating seems safe. they do come unassembled and you have to screw on the handles, but it comes with probably the best screwdriver i have ever had for it. i am very happy with these and can cook pancakes, grilled cheese, etc with no issues of burning or sticking, and cleaning them after is very easy. I bought the 11". I have used BergHOFF exclusively for 12 years. The only difference is I previously bought the BergHOFF Eurocast, from a another retailer. I even contacted BergHOFF by email, asked them if the ferno-green (ceramic), was the same. BergHOFF Eurocast has a shiny finish on top of the inner pan coating. Berghoff assured me it was in fact the same. Time will tell, 4 of my frying pans are the only ones that wore out after 10 years. Been putting off buying new ones until I found them on Wayfair. After 12 years of use, my 12 1/2 inch WOK and 1 other 12 1/2 inch frying pan plus 2 others, still look brand new. One point I will make is I have Parrots, last 30 years, this is one of the only type pan if accidentally overheated will not kill them. Teflon type pans when new or overheated , the fumes will kill any Parrot/bird you have living in your home. Pretreat the pans with vegetable oil as instructed, and periodically do it over the months and many years you have them, they are well worth the money spent.. Anonymous. South Bend, IN.
