I only gave this a four star because the cover when I unpacked the box it was cracked on top and a piece broken off on the side - very disappointed. I live in NYC and I always see the FEDEX guys throwing boxes on the street as they unload the trucks no surprise it arrived broken. Deadbolt, Matte Black

With this Philips smart lock, the world's first deadbolt with palm recognition, enjoy the most secure and convenient unlocking experience. Or unlock with a key, PIN code, or the Philips Home Access app to make returning home stress-free.

The locksmith came to install the lock and we discovered that two of the four batteries that came with the unit were dead. I called Wayfair's great customer service folks, who are sending out four fresh batteries. Normally this would not be an issue but I have never seen these batteries before. They are CR 123A 3V lithium batteries. In researching these, the internet says the batteries should have a 10-year shelf life, I don't know why they would be dead. The lock seems sturdy and very well made. I have three other keypad locks that take AA batteries and I am constantly replacing them. When I get power on the lock I will update my review.. Brenda.
