Ordered these to compliment the round crystal New York knobs in the rest of the home. The lever will go on the door to the garage for easy opening when your hands are full. They are a different collection but go together great. The crystal is clear and heavy. The plates are thick and expensive looking. I’m excited to install.. Gracie. WA. Sun Jan 17 2021

Published in 1870 by the prolific lithographer Currier & Ives, this stunning depiction of New York City shows the iconic American city at a time of great transition and prosperity. The conclusion of the Civil War five years prior was allowing the country to recover and the economy to expand. Tourism was increasing, and the city became the number one destination. Grand hotels were being built, and the city was about to begin the Gilded Age. Bird's eye perspectives were illustrated to allow citizens and merchants to display civic pride and noted essential and prominent buildings. These depictions give insight into the history of America, and their unique aesthetic transports the viewer back in time. New York City was bustling at the start of 1870 and had seen mass immigration from Ireland for the past ten years due to the Great Irish Famine. The Irish comprised nearly a quarter of the cities population, whose great migration was rivaled only by that of German immigrants who were fleeing cities disrupted by revolutions in the middle of the 19th century. This would start to change as immigrants from across the globe began to arrive in the following two decades with the opening of Ellis Island in 1892. Brooklyn established Coney Island in the 1870s, and it became an iconic destination for beachgoers since its inception. The five boroughs had yet to be consolidated, although the cultures and unique features of each were developing and evolving into what would become recognizable today.

Vintage-inspired noir. This photo print sends you back multiple decades to the Big Apple, showcasing a 1980s night skyline of Manhattan with the World Trade Center in the background and the Brooklyn Bridge in the front. A bold monochrome colorway lets you match this piece with a variety of styles and palettes. This New York City photograph is printed on a rectangular canvas with multiple size options available, so you can easily find just the right one to suit your space. Bonus: Wall-mounting hardware is also included for hassle-free hanging right out of the box.

Love the picture, it’s perfect timing in my space. The only downside is the hangers on the back easily tear out of the cardboard backing. I had to hot glue the hangers in place because they fell out when I was hanging up the picture.. Anonymous. Mon May 20 2024

This classic depiction of the five boroughs and the subway underneath them hearkens back to the images of New York City’s rich history and the vibrancy and unique divergence of culture that each borough represents. This art deco style map is restored and reproduced with striking vibrancy. The 1950’s were a booming time in the city following the end of World War II. New York City was poised to become the true global center as many of the other great cities in the world lay in ruins following the war. New York was about to experience a boon in growth and development. Midtown Manhattan was becoming the glass towered landscape that is recognizable today, as the East Village became the center of bohemian art and literature. New York began to rival the financial hub of London and the art center of Paris. The subway became an international icon of the city and this map created by the Union Dime bank in the style of the time details the different lines and stops that connected all points throughout the city. The subway became the great equalizer with traffic from every class and riders all sharing the same cars it became a metaphor for the diversity of the city itself. Our museum quality giclee print comes printed with archival ink on a heavy matte stock. Shipped in a sturdy cardboard tube your print will arrive ready to be framed. This eye-catching print makes the perfect gift for anyone that loves postwar history and imagery.

Love it! Guests love to search for their stops, xoxo. Anonymous. Mon Feb 12 2024
