Tam Vong bamboo, also known as iron bamboo or Calcutta bamboo is harder than other types of hardwood. Simple assembly with nuts and bolts is required.

These panels were the perfect edging for my English garden inspired landscape project around my dahlia beds. For installation, I would recommend getting a long drill bit just slightly skinnier than the legs on these panels and pre-drilling holes into the ground and then using a rubber mallet to tap them into place. Black Giant bamboo (Dendrocalamus asper), also known as Petung bamboo, is renowned for being the strongest and largest among bamboo species. This black variety of D. asper features large culms that transition from dark brown at the base to black after a few nodes, with a diameter reaching up to 7 inches. Its thick-walled culms make it ideal for heavy construction and foundational structures. Farmers and builders in Indonesia and Southeast Asia have long recognized the superior qualities of Asper as a building material. These giant poles lend themselves to creating majestic and durable structures. In terms of size and growth, Asper is comparable to the Latin American Guadua angustifolia. While there's a friendly rivalry over which species is stronger, the fact that many farmers are planting Asian Asper in South America and Africa, whereas few are bringing Guadua to Asia, indicates Asper's greater global appeal. Each pole will vary in exact size, color and appearance due to the natural material. Diameter may vary within half an inch of the listed size. Bamboo grows with one end slightly smaller than the other, splits and cracks that do not go all the way through the wall are natural and not considered defects.
