The smart features were easy to set up, and I successfully integrated the fan into my home automation system, where it now works consistently with voice commands. The fan is exceptionally quiet, even when running at top speed, though I would note that the airflow power is good rather than powerful. I would up size. Regarding the aesthetic, I ordered the white wash and brass finish; while the design is nice, the staining and texture of the blades are average. It's a VERY pretty fan. The blades are a very light gray wash look - high end. I got the Nickel finish motor. On/off via light switch and then the remote controls everything. Most fans I run at speed 1 for sleeping and that creates some air movement. But this fan doesn't push a lot of air, so i have to use speed 2 or 3 to get the same effect. This is in a guest room, which is rarely used, so that's fine for my needs. But if you need a fan that REALLY creates a breeze in a room, this is NOT the one. (Minus a star for that).. Tamara954. Great fan for a large room. I have it black side down for the blades. There is a faux wood side in a walnut color. I have a wall switch that turns it on and off. I may add a control for the fan.
