This is a very soft area rug! I got a pad for underneath it but you probably wouldn’t need one. The cats LOVE it. Nice rug but they're not 100% accurate with the description. It says 9x9 but the actual length/width was 8 and change. Just keep that in mind in case you have to be very specific with dimensions.
