It's a VERY pretty fan. The blades are a very light gray wash look - high end. I got the Nickel finish motor. On/off via light switch and then the remote controls everything. Most fans I run at speed 1 for sleeping and that creates some air movement. But this fan doesn't push a lot of air, so i have to use speed 2 or 3 to get the same effect. This is in a guest room, which is rarely used, so that's fine for my needs. But if you need a fan that REALLY creates a breeze in a room, this is NOT the one. (Minus a star for that).. Tamara954. Its in a 18*20 foot room and cools so fast in the sweltering texas heat, I hardly need to use my mini split. Im going to buy another one for my son's bedroom. I dont think this item was in the right category. I wanted a black modern ceiling fan but the look of this one is very industrial. It looks like it belongs in a loft and a single guy lives there. Its very industrial and it doesnt fit the aesthetic of my house, which is more modern with a touch of farmhouse. This picture should let you see, the blades are metal.
