No. But it is extremely helpful. These are things I was ready for, but some other buyers might not be ready for. This is an RF controlling device. While it makes some devices a little easier to use it does not make those devices "smart". If you have someone who likes to use the remotes a lot, the app will show incorrect settings for those devices that have changed with the remote. This does not bug me, but for someone who is not ready for that, make sure you understand what this device is first. I highly recommend Bond. This is an affordable way to use what you already have. Less devices in the landfill for replacements, and a pretty great way to control my devices from my phone. This is a great, beautiful ceiling fan! I know it is still on the box, but my husband has had to have emergency surgery and he is unable to raise his arms above his head at this time. This fan was an excellent choice! It’s very well built and powerful it moves a lot of air. The control for it is very nice and mounts on the wall. It’s also very quiet.
