This commercial grade downlight is ideal for new construction when specified with a 4" x 2 1/8" square or octagonal J box. It is also conveniently UL Listed for wet conditions only indoor wet locations such as above a shower. For exterior they would need to be installed in damp location such as a covered porch, soffit, etc.. A place where the fixtures would not receive direct saturation.

Honestly I haven’t had the chance to install this yet but I have several friends that have used these before and it didn’t seem to be difficult. Great product for the price. The LEDs make it easy to change colors. Easy to install. This is the 10" and we could have gone a little bigger for the space. Had we gone with the 13" we wouldn't have to touch up paint around it, but I also like that they aren't that noticeable and something bigger might have been too obtrusive as this is just a small rectangle between multiple rooms. I really like these fixtures, but wanted to add one word of caution. Because the decorative links are STEMS rather than chains, "adjusting the length" means using 1 or 2 stems. You are not given that much flexibility in the length. This was hard for us, because we found out that 1 stem made it too high and 2 stems made it too low. (We had a very creative electrician who came up with a solution using brass colored links from another fixture we had ordered. Otherwise, we would have had to return this fixture).. Yuko.
