This has been a great addition to our cats’ furniture collection! The smalleryounger cat loves to sleep on the flower on top, which is made of something like memory foam, but a bit denser. I imagine it is somewhat self-heating and also helps to hold onto the heat from the window. My largest cat loves the middle level basket. She will curl up in it for hours and has since I took it out of the box. Her sister is terrified of the entire thing and avoids even being near it. I have no idea why. I picked it because it had 3 levels, and they are always together, but it has not appealed to her yet. This is a very solid cat tree! Wider than I thought. The top bed perimeter is flimsier than I thought it would be, hopefully my cats don't fall over the edge. The middle bed has a pad insert in the bed instead of a solid unit. The pad is smaller than the inside area of the bed and looks like it could easily be slid out if a paw got attached to it. I purchased this for my mobility challenged ( tripaw ) cats. The spacing will allow them to safely climb without me worrying about falls as much. Yes it's expensive BUT .. the quality of the wood is exceptional. I am a little concerned the carpeting is very thin and it may become an issue with shredding- hopefully not! I will update this review in a few months on the durability of the carpet. We have a rescue and this tree is a hit with everyone. It was relatively easy to put together with well marked parts and photo instructions. It has a very wide square base so I’m not longer worried about it tipping however, when my cat gets to the very top basket and is moving around it appears to shake quite a bit - enough to make me a little nervous. All the parts are sturdy and after 2 months of having it, I can confirm that it hasn’t tipped at all. I love this cat tree.
