First, I have an arched fireplace opening, and I was told that these doors would not fit on it. After taking extensive measurements and figuring out all the angles and opening sizes, I was confident this would fit. The package came in great shape, and all the parts, nuts, bolts, and accessories were in the box. The doors fit into the opening, and the arch was covered, which was a great relief. Using the brackets provided, and because of the arch, I decided to drill holes with my rotary hammer and screw the door brackets into the masonry brick. Everything fit perfect and the doors were secured in place. I added the screens, and the job was done. For a square fireplace, I would highly recommend these doors. We can easily see them doing all their guinea pig stuff. Assembly took me about 3 hours by myself. Directions were easy to follow and I didn’t end up missing anything so the frustration level was nice and low. The lights are our favorite touch. We can see them any time we want but they have a nice dark hideout just in case they need it. I don’t think the access to the hideout is a big deal. If you absolutely need to grab one you can pull out the tray some. Our piggies loved their new home and I also love the peace of mind it gives me knowing they aren’t in a wire cage anymore where my dogs could accidentally get too rough and break them out lol I definitely would recommend this cage. This is a very pretty alternative to the traditional metal dog crate. It does have a yellowish tinge to it(not as white as the photos suggest), but we were ok with it. Our 50lb hound/shepherd mix puppy has ample space to stand and stretch out. I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because, I think with a little time and boredom, she would easily be able to chew or dig her way out of this. We are using it only as a sleeping crate in our bedroom, so I am not worried about that. But I wouldn't put her in this and then leave the house.
