Set up was fine . Please note that you can just plug into an electrical outlet . You do not need to “hard wire it” as the description says. It is easy. However, the unit has a defect! The fake copper lip that the water falls from is NOT LEVEL ! Therefore the waterfall will never be like the picture in a nice V fall. This fountain made a great addition to my yard. It is well made and installation was easy. I wired the lights into my existing low voltage patio lights for convenience as it comes with separate cords for the pump and lights. PREVIOUS REVIEW I really wanted to love this black modern tiered bowl fountain, it is beautiful online. But upon receipt, I was disappointed with the fact that only one out of three lights worked. After putting it all together, filling it up with water, and turning it on, two lights did not work. There is no option to have the lights on or off, it is either all or none, so the fact that only one light was lit up did not impress me. Working with customer service at Wayfair was pretty easy they understood my concern and promptly sent me a new water fountain I had to ship the broken one back. I just switched it out and put the broken one into the new box and have yet to set the new one up. I am not sure if it works well and if all the lights are functioning, but I can update my review when I make time to set the new one up. I will say, once the water is in, it becomes heavy enough to not worry about the wind blowing it over as it is a plastic resin waterfall. The sound of it IS beautiful and I really enjoy hearing it on our front patio. I do like the design and would have given it four stars if I didnt have to go through the hassle of putting it together, taking it apart, and shipping it back. I see from other reviewers they too have had the same problem with the lights not working so I dont know.... UPDATE REVIEW 8-15-26 I got the replacement waterfall hooked up today and I am excited to report that all three lights are working in this unit! Even though the process was a bit hectic to deal with, overall I am content with this small water feature now that all three lights are working. As noted before it would be nice to have an option to have the lights on or off as they dont need to be running during the day, and it would also be nice to have a hook on the inside of the waterfall compartment to hang up the excess cords and keep the pump straight up and down my husband did use the wire tie that it came with to accomplish it the best he could. I was also worried about the low price and quality. I am very impressed with this. First, it is heavy - the stated specs are 22.7 lbs and it is closer to 45lbs. That means it is sturdy and robust. The pump and light are easy to assemble. This took me more time to unbox than it did to set up. It was packaged in a large box with ample hard foam padding all four sides. The sound of the water is loud enough to hear over a noise AC unit but not so loud that it is distracting.
