The artwork unfolds like a crescent-shaped meadow, beginning with a dense collection of purple flowers along the lower left and continuing through delicate stems toward the opposite corner. Lavender, mauve and periwinkle blooms rise at different heights, while butterflies cross the open cream field above them. This curved botanical movement gives the blanket a more natural sense of growth than a conventional floral border. The winged details are deliberately varied. A large lavender butterfly rests near the upper floral arch, long-tail wings appear across the center and smaller moth-like forms add scale between the flowers. Because much of the ivory background remains visible, each butterfly can be seen clearly without competing with a crowded repeat. Muted eucalyptus-style leaves, thistle-shaped blooms and fine grass stems soften the purple palette with gray-green and warm beige notes. The result works particularly well in rooms that use linen textures, pale wood, cream upholstery or understated cottage-inspired accents. It may be displayed across the end of a bed, folded over an occasional chair or kept in a quiet reading area. The flannel fabric provides a gentle everyday layer that drapes easily without the dense bulk of Sherpa or heavy winter coverings. This purple wildflower blanket combines practical comfort with an illustrated meadow scene for those drawn to butterflies, lavender gardens and softly aged botanical artwork.

The blanket itself is beautiful, soft and pretty patterned as the picture indicates. So, the review rating is for the quality of the blanket. Unfortunately, I was confused and thought I had ordered the 80x60 but instead ordered the 30x40; my mistake. However, as for the way it arrived, I give it a zero star. It came bunched up and very wrinkled and just shoved into a shipping bag instead of neatly folded and in either a box or a sealed plastic bag and no tags to indicate that it is brand new. It was meant to be a gift and I was eagerly awaiting this item, but now I'll have to keep looking for something else. I would re-order the right size, but am afraid it will arrive the same way again. Very disappointed with Wayfair or whoever actually sent this to me. I've always been happy with how items I've purchased in the past have arrived, but not this time unfortunately. I will say that Wayfair responded to this issue promptly and sent a refund, so I appreciate their handling of the matter.. Laura. Beloit, WI. Wed Aug 26 2026

Two sweeping floral arrangements define the structure of this lavender butterfly blanket. Purple and ivory blooms gather across the upper corner and rise again from the opposite lower edge, forming a diagonal frame around the pale open center. Small butterflies move between the bouquets, adding gentle motion without competing with the flowers. The composition uses space as part of the artwork. A faint circular watercolor wash sits near the middle, while fine gold branches and dotted curves connect the botanical clusters along the edges. This restrained center gives the blanket a more polished, gallery-like appearance than a dense all-over floral repeat. Lavender, soft white, dusty blue and muted eucalyptus green create a coordinated palette that can introduce color without overwhelming light furniture. The flannel surface allows the blanket to be used across a bed, sofa or reading chair while retaining the appearance of a decorative floral panel. Rather than treating the butterflies as the only subject, this design gives equal importance to layered petals, leaves and diagonal movement. It is a fitting direction for anyone drawn to watercolor bouquets, purple botanical artwork and softer floral compositions with an elegant amount of open space.

A single oversized butterfly gives this floral throw its identity. Placed prominently at the center, the large purple and blue wing artwork becomes the immediate focal point, while smaller butterflies and soft corner florals support the design without distracting from the main image. The flowers are arranged more like framing elements than a full repeating garden. Lavender-toned blossoms, ivory petals and eucalyptus-style leaves gather along the lower left and upper right, which keeps the composition elegant and open. The cream background provides breathing room and helps the watercolor purples, blush tones and muted greens feel soft rather than crowded. Its flannel construction makes the blanket easy to use as an everyday layer while still allowing the artwork to function as visible décor. It can brighten a neutral bedroom, soften a sofa or add a graceful accent to a reading corner. This design is especially suitable for shoppers who prefer a prominent butterfly image paired with floral styling instead of a dense all-over print.
