It doesn’t shed much which I really appreciate when it arrived it didn’t have a weird smell. I did wash it though because I like to wash everything before I use it. Even after washing it, it didn’t get stiff or hard. Ok…. The directions are 27 pages long. I almost hired someone to put it together until I unboxed it, and it wasn’t that bad. Now…. Though, it took me almost 3 hours, and the directions say 30 minutes ( but that’s with2 people and I’m sure it could get done faster. I ordered this blanket in the ‘black marble’ option. It is incredibly soft and cozy and perfect size for cuddling on the couch. Really excited to put it to use once it gets colder! It’s definitely heavy and warm, even with the air conditioning blasting. The only thing I’m a little disappointed in is the color. I don’t now if my pictures fully show, but it almost shows a bit on the blue side. Especially in the lighter gray spots. The opposite side is a solid velvet-y material in a slightly warmer gray that slightly contrasts the slightly blue-ish black on the fur side.
