I bought these in pink. I would not have imagined myself buying something so frou-frou but I did. I wanted black out curtains for my sewing room to keep fabrics and such from fading in the summertime or when I'm not doing much sewing. Also the old windows are leaky for air and I wanted something to help stop the cold or heat. I put these in a room wallpapered in blue and pink flowers, paired them with lace curtains, and the windows are directly side by side. This is a home built in 1891 and they look very nice with the style house. These frame the windows beautifully and the ruffles add a pretty element. These would be very pretty in a bedroom or a room used by a women who likes a feminine look. They have a look that would work well in a modern style home as well as in older homes. These curtains are really pretty! The fabric is thick and soft. My only caveat would be that they do not block out light at all. I had hoped these curtains would solve the problem of glare on the TV screen during the day- alas, they do not.
