This rug is very high quality! It lays extremely flat right away. The pad I bought for under it isnt settled yet so you see those folds underneath.... but that will subside. This is much higher quality than Im used to so I will need to make sure I care for it properly with dogs and kids in the house. But overall, its very nice! I bought this for my high traffic entryway and wasn't sure if the light colour would show dirt (for reference I have 2 large dogs and a teen who rides horses). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The rug is a bit darker in color than pictured. It still looks nice and looks like it will be durable. There are no frayed edges. The rug is of moderate comfort- its not plush or lined with any padding so I did not expect it be super comfortable out of the packaging. 7'10" x 10'3" is a rare size apparently and Im glad I found this one. Perfect neutral rug for my living room. Most other "neutral" rugs looked very blue in my living room due to my blue-gray walls and lots green outdoor light from plants/trees. The pile is comfortable and makes the space more cozy. I went with a 1/8" rug pad but 1/4 would be better if you want a very plush feel. The green hues in this rug work great for my space because the surrounding green light actually causes the carpet to look more neutral than green. Its a pretty nice rug, it shipped rolled with a cardboard tube and end caps, wrapped in thick plastic, so there were no stains and it flattened out nicely. There was a chemical smell after unrolling it, but we let it air out for a few days with the ceiling fan on and it lessened over time, I could vaguely notice it after a few days if I went out. After 2 weeks, no smell at all even if you get ground level and sniffed. Its fairly soft and decently thick for a low knap rug. It does benefit from a rug pad, as all thinner rugs do, for extra cush underfoot, but I think its okay without one. Got the 9x12, pretty good price for the size as there arent as many options when you go bigger than 8x10. This is replacing an 8x10 in the living room, as that was a bit too small to properly tie everything together. After a year, it's held up well to toddler play, cats and vacuuming.. Kevin.
