Our standard hot tubs are heated by Friction Heat - when the motor is running it creates roughly 1KW of heat, combined from the friction created by the water rushing through the pump and plumbing provides adequate heating to increase the temperature by roughly 1°F per hour.

It’s very pretty and relaxing. The access door is hard to open. The jets are powerful enough for me. I’m in MD and is 88 degrees now, when I’m in the tub, and it is at 104, it doesn’t feel very hot to me, but still warm and relaxing. Other reviewers say they use it in 40 degree weather so I’ll try when it gets colder. Though wayfair said I had “big and bulky” delivery… the delivery company said it was up to the driver if they would take it to back yard… my driver eventually did, ( with my help) and it was a lot for a man and a woman to move … not sure why the guy came alone and with no sliders, no dolly, only a forklift … I still tipped him because after waiting two and a half months, I was just happy to be getting in…finally
Update: I’ve used the spa many times during the winter in the 40’s and below… it’s wonderful ! I never feel cold in it and I still don’t have it turned all the way up.
Another update: I forgot to say that I did hire an electrician to put in a designated electricity line for the hot tub … even though it’s plug and play, I didn’t want any issues with tripping my electricity and the electrician said it’s worth it, and protects your investment. I feel better that it has its own waterproof line. A year later, and still no issues with the hot tub !
This was one of the best purchases of my life. I actually look forward to getting in after work during winter! It actually feels better in the winter than in spring because you can really feel the heat of the spa when it’s colder outside. I highly recommend !!! There’s nothing not to love about it.
Update: so the OH signal came on (over heat) and the tub wouldn’t power on. I went online to read the manual … if that happens check the filter there’s usually an obstruction … there was a pebble in the filter…as soon as I removed it, the spa powered up right away and “OH “ went away !!! Still totally happy with my purchase ! It is a delight, sturdy, and no problems with it !!!
Update: it’s two years later and the spa is still operating perfectly and I still love it . I bought a new filter for it through Wayfair this year, because no local stores seemed to have it, it works great !
