I bought this case because a friend of mine has already done so and has used it. The price is excellent. It is not a hard shell; those cost about $1,000.00. It is softish. It contains all sorts of protection to put on the various bike parts and does an excellent job of protecting the bike. In order to fit into the rather narrow "box" one must break down the bike. Handlebar and wheels need to come off. This could be difficult unless you are well versed in bike mechanics. Once packed, it is quite narrow and tips over easily. Appears to be relatively heavy-duty and well made. It is certainly long enough to serve as we expected for our old fat beagle to use to get up into my truck, on the couch and possibly onto the bed again. Rocky has arthritis in his hips and we do a lot of lifting of his aft end to get him up the back steps, into the truck and onto the couch. The ramp is long enough to make the grade favorable and not so steep he cannot negotiate most "climbs" as needed. The ramp is very compact when collapsed, yet quite strong when extended for use.
