The window pane pattern adds a calm look to my bed room as shown in pictures. The box pattern keeps the inner fill in place to help loft stay intact in place say after heavy laundry work. I use this as duvet too and works great as cozy blanket for family. I am happy to understand it is certified harsh chemical free that adds to my sound sleep. That yarn is then woven into fabric and used for the manufacture of these bed coverings. The perimeter seam is the only contact point between all three layers, the top, the fill, and the back. A thin layer of nonwoven sits atop the bat and the back and bat are stitched thru giving this piece the best features of a comforter and the appearance of a duvet. Upcycling these garments into usable and very functional pieces hugs our planet. We treasure that. Each package is sold as a three-piece set which includes the duvet comforter and two shams. The shams are open in the back for ease of fill. The duvet comforter fill is stitched in as it is launderable, so the fill never needs to be removed or replaced.
