I am quite surprised at the quality of this bookshelf. The metal tubes are thicker steel than I expected, and secure in two places as you build the shelf. It makes the entire thing feel that much sturdier, which the thick wood shelves already do. Be aware the final build is HEAVY. Impressively sturdy and attractive! Hardware was easy to hang (once I figured out to put it together as I was hanging rather than before!). I love this! It’s so much bigger than the three plastic ones I was using before. I wanted the top one a little lower because I was planning to put all of my, and my significant other Dan’s suitcases. Up on the top shelf. One word of advice. When attaching the top and bottom side supports together. Put a shelf in between the two supports. So that it can be stable when you’re finishing the setup. Plus whatever you put there. Can help stabilize it too. Putting this together by myself. Was pretty easy. Although I wished I had an extra hand sometimes. With how wide it is. But I was able to get it altogether by myself. In four hours, and it was done. I put the bottom prices for the bottom part of the legs in. That say to do first in the directions. To not scratch up the floors. But this was going into the garage. So it really didn’t matter. And our house is very old. So the garage floor is old too.
