The directions are awful, there's a youtube video that shows a guy setting up a similar gate, his is French door style but the set up is very similar so it was helpful because we were totally lost trying to figure it out. Anyway its perfect for our needs. We needed to keeo 3 if our cats separate from one cat. They can slip through sometimes by messing with the side pole to move it over just enough to slip through but still this is a good enough solution for us. I put the structure together myself and it probably would have gone quicker if I had help but I took my time and the instructions were easy enough to follow. The wood is strong enough for indoor but I don’t think it would last long outside in the elements. I didn’t use the roofing material that came with it since I have it inside the house. This is a great car seat for my small 17 pound dog. The picture is a bit misleading with the golden retriever puppy as the cover image, but after reading reviews and taking some measurements in my car before I purchased, I'm glad I bought it. I read a review that someone used their seatbelt to secure it more in place along the back which I also did and recommend. I put the seatbelt through the two back bottom loops and extended the seatbelt until it had the safety locking activate to pull tightly in place. It's got great lift in my 2008 Prius so that my lil guy can still poke his head out the window safely and the safety strap holds him in place to hold him back from jumping into the front seat.
