Ensure your measurements are precise and finished wall material is in place before measuring for your shower door. Tools needed to install the door are: Tape measure, level, hacksaw, drill,7/64-inch, 1/8-inch, ¼-inch drill bits, #2 Philips screwdriver, 3/16-inch wrench, sharp knife, and caulking (clear silicone recommended) Optional tools include a miter box for cutting parts to length, files, center punch, and masking tape. Installed in a basement with a level/plumb foundation; however, the door could not be adjusted properly to keep it sealed as the door rolls across the frame. One of the wheels adjustment screws was stripped, but OVE was able to send out a replacement fairly quickly. Hello, my name is Kim and I work in Product Development here at MAAX. I read your feedback on this 3 in 1 Shower kit and I want you to know that we hear your concerns. I also want to share some practical tips that can help make your installation and long-term use go a lot smoother. This is the same advice I’d give to a friend or family member putting it in their home. Here are a few tips that can make a big difference: 1. Prep & Review – This kit requires significant preparation before starting. We recommend carefully reviewing all provided instructions and materials in advance to plan your installation properly. For best results, the installer should be comfortable assembling and working with wood framing as part of the prep work. 2. Base Support – For maximum durability, ensure the shower base is installed on a level, solid surface. Applying a thin mortar bed under the base helps prevent movement and distributes weight evenly, helping to avoid squeaking over time. 3. Wall & Framing – While the panels are lightweight for easier handling, they perform best when secured to properly plumb walls with additional blocking behind drywall. This prevents flexing and ensures tight seams. You will find an Installation video specific to how to install the wall reinforcement on our website, www.maax.ca or www.maax.com . You will also find a QR Code that leads you to the video on Step 1 of the installation manual. 4. Assembly - We recommend at least two people for installing the walls onto the base. Working in pairs makes it easier to align the panels, keep them stable while fastening, maintain safe access to the backside, and move the product into position for installation. Having extra hands ensures a smoother and more efficient process. 5. Door Alignment – Carefully level the base before installing the glass door. This is very critical!!! Proper alignment prevents gaps and ensures smooth sliding action. 6. Sealing - Apply caulk to all seams and joints as shown in the guide steps related to the walls and caddy, and follow the silicone placement instructions for the door jambs, threshold and base. Remember, the inside of the door should not be sealed, so that any water can safely drain back into the shower. We’re continuously listening to your feedback, and your comments help us improve.
