I was apprehensive to order blue, but truly wanted something soft for my recently remodeled space and did not want a traditional comforter set. The medallion stitch quilt set was perfect!! I wanted a homey space where we could retreat in comfort, and this was the perfect addition. It is medium weight, which I was happy with, and fit our king bed perfectly without being too short or too long on the sides. Very pleased with the quality and color choices in this set. This set is very pretty and feminine, perfect for a girl’s room. It is nice quality. I didn’t give 5 stars because there are areas on it that are strangely stitched where it shouldn’t be, and I had to spend over an hour steaming it when it arrived. It was packaged nicely, but it wrinkles terribly. I am dreading when I have to wash it and do it all over again! It’s for the guest bedroom so won’t get much use thank goodness. But I’ll enjoy looking at it until then!. Lisa. LA. Wed Sep 02 2026

The online description only included the length of this bedspread. Through Chat the customer support gave me both length and width of queen, king, and California king. With this information I was able to determine that I wanted a queen size for my king bed as a coverlet; I turned it sideways and it fits perfectly. I'm very impressed with the lightweightness of this spread, just what we wanted. It also is very soft. I chose the blush color and it is a very subtle color and we like it very much. There was no off-gassing smell. We haven't washed it yet. Hoping it doesn't shrink too much.. Barbara. Tucson, AZ. Mon Jun 22 2026

Very thin, really would be perfect if it worked as a duvet cover, bc that’s all it really is. I had to run it through the dryer on air-fluff probably 18-22 times to avoid red fuzz taking over!. Abigail. Hoboken, NJ. Wed Jul 08 2026

Hugh is a classic matelassé constructed of mercerized cotton for a sleek appearance and hand feel. The all-over stippling design provides subtle interest, and the coverlet is finished with scalloped edge rounded front corners. Matelasse (mat-la-SAY) is a weaving or stitching technique yielding a pattern that appears quilted or padded. Matelass may be achieved by hand, on a jacquard loom, or a quilting machine. It is meant to mimic the style of hand-stitched quilts made in Marseilles, France. It is a heavy, thick textile that appears to be padded, but actually has no padding within the fabric. Our Hugh Matelasse has a soft, pebble-like texture.
