This has worked out great we had a electrician install this. I enjoy the three-speed fan for low medium and high it appropriately pulls up the steam and smells of cooking. I really enjoy the feature that you can pull the grates down to be able to clean all of the grease off. The only tricky part is getting in between the slats as there's no way to completely disassemble those that I've been able to figure out at least so you do need to soak them for a while and use a sponge in between each slat so it is a little time-consuming but typically have only done it like four times a year. The metal can be quite sure if I did cut myself so be cautious. The lights that are built into this I don't think would be bright enough to illuminate an area we had additional lights put in to our nook. The fan itself is not terribly loud you can definitely hear it but it's more quiet than our last one and I don't think it's reasonable to think a fan is going to make no noise. We really wanted to like the PRO 500. We ordered it because its overhang over the stove was the largest out of all the models we saw, and we wanted maximum smoke protection. But we installed it and decided after seeing it in person that it felt too bulky for our kitchen. The sides were also too flexible and left a gap between the cabinet and the hood. I am super impressed with this. Installation was easy except the ducting part that took some work but once installed it works so well. On the lowest setting it’s barely noticeable yet still powerful. This was delivered super fast. It was packaged well. It was what we were looking for, and now that I’ve got it installed and used it a few times, I can say it works so well, and I love it. I knocked a star off because there are some frustrating (welding) stains on the stainless steel, and I got cut on a piece of sharp metal that was sticking out of it. Other than that, it’s a dream, and for the price, I don’t think we could have gotten even close with another option. Easy to install and looks good in the space. I’m most impressed with the fan noise, at max speed it sounds like a table fan or similar to white noise and not like a steam engine like most range hoods. Amazing range hood! Not easy to install, we actually still were sweating trying to get it secured in with four people involved. The instructions say at least two people, but I would get more people helping! It understandably took us a long time, but it is very sturdy. We have just short of 8 ft ceilings, and wanted it about 30” over the stovetop, so we also had to cut the two covers for the top portion. Get a metal cutting wheel and grinder, it was definitely not a job for someone who doesn’t have experience doing that, but you could cut it a different way if needed. Not necessary to alter like that though for taller ceilings, or lower placements. Installation aside, this range hood works beautifully and is strong even on its lowest setting. The lights are not blinding, and it’s nice having just buttons for control on both sides. Absolutely would recommend, for anyone who has the right help to install! So far its great! We have had it installed (husband did it with his friend) for about 1 month. It is fairly quiet but really powerful on the highest level. Ive noticed. I haven't even had to use the highest level yet. The light is super bright. I wish there was more than one level to the light though. It was fairly easy and straightforward to unstall. The problem we had was our vent hole was smaller than the stencil overlay so we didnt know what to do initially. We figured it out, had to cut the hole! It worked out. So far we are very happy with it. We have open concept kitchen and smells do not float upstairs anymore! That was my major qualm with the over ranger microwave hood. Nice hood. Performs as it should. The installation directions are not very clear but it wasn’t too difficult to figure out. Once the main u it was installed, the bottom cover would not fit very well almost as if it had warped out of shape. It’s very thin stainless steel.
