This has worked out great we had a electrician install this. I enjoy the three-speed fan for low medium and high it appropriately pulls up the steam and smells of cooking. I really enjoy the feature that you can pull the grates down to be able to clean all of the grease off. The only tricky part is getting in between the slats as there's no way to completely disassemble those that I've been able to figure out at least so you do need to soak them for a while and use a sponge in between each slat so it is a little time-consuming but typically have only done it like four times a year. The metal can be quite sure if I did cut myself so be cautious. The lights that are built into this I don't think would be bright enough to illuminate an area we had additional lights put in to our nook. The fan itself is not terribly loud you can definitely hear it but it's more quiet than our last one and I don't think it's reasonable to think a fan is going to make no noise. We purchased this hood because we needed a ductless unit, as our house was built without the provision for a vented ducted exhaust system. Luckily we discovered this product! Our electrician installed it without any problem. It is a little heavy, so I helped him holding it up while he screwed it in place. My only criticism is that it does not come with the needed filter, so we had to purchase that separate and it took almost two months on back order to get it, so all that time we could not use the product. We really wanted to like the PRO 500. We ordered it because its overhang over the stove was the largest out of all the models we saw, and we wanted maximum smoke protection. But we installed it and decided after seeing it in person that it felt too bulky for our kitchen. The sides were also too flexible and left a gap between the cabinet and the hood. Easy to install and looks good in the space. I’m most impressed with the fan noise, at max speed it sounds like a table fan or similar to white noise and not like a steam engine like most range hoods. I am super impressed with this. Installation was easy except the ducting part that took some work but once installed it works so well. On the lowest setting it’s barely noticeable yet still powerful. This was delivered super fast. It was packaged well. It was what we were looking for, and now that I’ve got it installed and used it a few times, I can say it works so well, and I love it. I knocked a star off because there are some frustrating (welding) stains on the stainless steel, and I got cut on a piece of sharp metal that was sticking out of it. Other than that, it’s a dream, and for the price, I don’t think we could have gotten even close with another option. I found this to be a thoughtful and "humane" design and company because I could contact sales and support directly instead of being routed to an AI chatbot and the design of the range hood shows care for the installer and the owner/user of the range hood. Let me explain: - I love that this products works automatically with no app and no wifi - great selling point. This shows me the product design team actual was allowed to think of the user first and the CEO didn't go for a cash grab like every other company who designs their products to do surveillance on me and my family and harvest our data and sell it (gross!) so right away points to hauslane.  - I love that it included ducting adapters for 3 different install methods (vertical round and rectangle and horizontal rectangle) which made my DIY install simpler with fewer trips to the hardware store. again, thoughtful towards the buyer not just the short term bottom line. - The included light bulbs are very warm and pleasant and best of all they are a non-proprietary changeable bulb size. Shockingly, Hauslane was the only company I saw who did this and their competition must be trying to save a few bucks by building in a permanent LED that when it fails who knows if you can find a replacement. I also love being able to choose what the lighting is like (like a cooler or more likely warmer bulb if I choose) and replace a bulb without worrying about replacing some proprietary computer board inside some uni. This is so simple and so obviously the right move and the fact that the folks at this company approved this design and made it happen is another way they showed themselves to be thoughtful community members making a considerate product.  -Finally, Jared and the sales and support team were pleasant to work with and responsive to help me figure out which range vent would work best in my case and they helped me get a competitive price too and have been available to my follow up questions. Again, it is rare that I actually have any kind of continuity of communication with the same person at a company these days and this was refreshing and made the transaction a pleasant experience.  One note for installers, I think the instructions recommend this too and I also recommend getting or renting some kind of counter stilts/support jacks (probably a cabinet installer knows how to source such a tool) to hold up the range hood while you get it into position because it weighs enough that having to hold it while doing precise alignment becomes quite awkward. Definitely at least a two person job, maybe three is better without stilts for the step of attaching it to the cabinet/structure above it.  On sound, the quiet settings are sufficiently quiet and the strong settings are loud but also powerful. The automatic lights on and off is a feature we love. and the heat sensing is very responsive so even when it powers up when it gets hot, it also powers back down when things cool off. Amazing range hood! Not easy to install, we actually still were sweating trying to get it secured in with four people involved. The instructions say at least two people, but I would get more people helping! It understandably took us a long time, but it is very sturdy. We have just short of 8 ft ceilings, and wanted it about 30” over the stovetop, so we also had to cut the two covers for the top portion. Get a metal cutting wheel and grinder, it was definitely not a job for someone who doesn’t have experience doing that, but you could cut it a different way if needed. Not necessary to alter like that though for taller ceilings, or lower placements. Installation aside, this range hood works beautifully and is strong even on its lowest setting. The lights are not blinding, and it’s nice having just buttons for control on both sides. Absolutely would recommend, for anyone who has the right help to install! Nice hood. Performs as it should. The installation directions are not very clear but it wasn’t too difficult to figure out. Once the main u it was installed, the bottom cover would not fit very well almost as if it had warped out of shape. It’s very thin stainless steel.
