Once you add the three batteries that are not included and turn it on, it makes noise, moves, and lights up. It is also extremely light and not that big making it easy to put in a preferred spot. The one significant challenge I had with it is that I can't really figure out the right way to use it. It comes with a little wire sticking out of it that I believe to be a motion sensor but the unit itself did not come with any directions. I'm guessing that you place a bowl of candy on top of the button and that when anyone reaches in, it will activate the sensor which will lead to the witch starting its animatronics. My kids thought it was a hoot so I think it's a win for them. All the parts and instructions came with it including a video that you can watch online. You don’t need a Philips screw head at all unless you want to use the batteries. With the manual and video, it wasn’t hard to assemble but it does take some figuring out as you go along. But once you get it done, it’s pretty cool to look at!
