I had some buyers remorse after I purchased this and read some additional reviews about how it had trouble heating up. I didn't realize it didn't use a standard electric spa heater. When I saw "Friction Heating" I thought that was in addition to normal electric heating and was a motor heat recovery unit and an energy saving feature. This was very new to me as the last time I bought a spa was 30 years ago. After installing and using it for going on 4 months, I must say I am impressed with the function and performance so far. It does take around 24 hours to get to from 75 to 100 degrees but once it got there it maintains the set temperature very well. Some of the reviews mentioned that it had a hard time heating in cold weather and maybe that is true for them but here in Florida I haven't had any problems even during some of the 30 degree cold fronts we had. The spa shell is very solid and seems durable. It has decent number of jets and water movement and we are really enjoying this spa. Now for my observations on what could be better. As some of the other reviews have mentioned the outer shell is very thin vinyl panels. Not a problem so far but they are pretty flimsy and hurricane force winds might cause them to buckle. The pump and control access panel is this same vinyl material and it is held in place by screws so to access anything you have to unscrew it rather than via a hinged door access like most spas. The single speed pump works fine but it would be nice to be able to add a little more massage power to the jets. A two speed pump would be preferable. Lastly, the instruction manual should be specific to a single spa model and not cover multiple models where some of the functions and features aren't pertinent to the one you are working with. Would I recommend this spa? For the solid inner shell, user friendly controls, and the included accessories, in this price range, all delivered free to your home in less than a week? Having 4 kids, I knew this would be a big hit with my youngest son. His older brothers used to own the older Step2 model of this roller coaster, but I eventually gave it away. I usually wait until a certain age to surprise the boys with this set, but my fourth son is much taller. Having three older brothers, he is also much more mature and a quick learner. It arrived in many pieces, but everything was included and nothing was missing (what a relief!). It was super easy to set up, and it even came with stickers for me to apply to the design. Before I knew it, my youngest son was all over this. In fact, he cannot stop riding around on this roller coaster! From morning to night, he is on this roller coaster, which is why I still have not put it away. My husband and I decided to keep this one indoors due to the super hot weather outside, so that he can enjoy cool indoor time. Once fall is here, we will move it to our outdoor space for him and his older brother to enjoy. I love that the maximum weight is 50 pounds, which allows his older brother to bring back his toddler memories and have fun with his youngest brother! Although, I cannot tell you enough how many times a day I hear my 8-year-old and 11-year-old tell me how much they wish Step2 would create one for bigger kids to enjoy as well. Hint hint, Step2! This platinum edition is well worth it. It comes with a ride-on toy that looks like a motorcycle, a 9-foot track to ride on, and steps to climb up to the ride. It is excellent for 2 to 5-year-olds and up to a maximum of 50 pounds. This set is very well designed and safe for my toddler, who is having the time of his life! Great tub but a couple of things I did not expect. First thing was I underestimated the weight of the tub. It's a lot heavier than it looks. If it needs to go up have some heavy equipment to assist you and the second thing was the amount of electricity it used in the winter. my electric bill went up $80-$100 a month. Update Wayfair owed upto the delay and refunded us partially for the extra money we had to pay to the installers due to last minute cancellation. Additionally, we heard back from Strong Spas senior management and they are sending a technician to evaluate the spa and fix anything that needs to be done. We were initially worried about whether manufacturer is reliable but so far, they have been communicating with us promptly. Increasing rating to 4 stars and will further update once it’s up and running and we can use it. Initial Review The bottom of the spa has punctured holes which have been created somewhere in the shipping process. Wayfair was kind to connect with the manufacturer but now waiting for a fix. Prior to this, delivery was delayed because the item was too heavy. Item was finally delivered but with a Punctured base that would cause a rodent or insect issue later.
