This Attractive and Versatile Range Hood looks and works perfectly in an "Under Cabinet" application or as a stand-alone "Wall Hood" (Optional Chimney sections available for ceiling heights up to 10'6"). We’ve amplified the 1000 CFM blower motor by having it factory-tested and installed for added capability, but that doesn’t mean it’s loud. When this hood is in super quiet mode, the hood is barely audible while pulling 400 CFM. The seamless 430 brushed stainless steel finish is a true testament to the fine craftsmanship that is this range hood. Our 101 model is a heavy-duty double-wall construction for extra durability. Other features include LED lights, 4 chimney extension options, blower rotation if horizontal ducting is needed, and heat lamp sockets. As we were missing a few inches to the ceiling with the included chimney component, we ordered the longer version directly from the manufacturer. Including a picture of the range hood after install, and a second picture after painting. Our only issue with the product is that it “whistles” at its lower speeds and due to slightly inconsistent suction, the metal grills were vibrating against the lower horizontal frame. Amazing range hood! Not easy to install, we actually still were sweating trying to get it secured in with four people involved. The instructions say at least two people, but I would get more people helping! It understandably took us a long time, but it is very sturdy. We have just short of 8 ft ceilings, and wanted it about 30” over the stovetop, so we also had to cut the two covers for the top portion. Get a metal cutting wheel and grinder, it was definitely not a job for someone who doesn’t have experience doing that, but you could cut it a different way if needed. Not necessary to alter like that though for taller ceilings, or lower placements. Installation aside, this range hood works beautifully and is strong even on its lowest setting. The lights are not blinding, and it’s nice having just buttons for control on both sides. Absolutely would recommend, for anyone who has the right help to install! There are many pros about this range hood. First, it’s heavy duty - far heavier and sturdier than my previous one. Second, it’s all metal, even the filters, and includes a grease trap, which is a big bonus feature. The fan levels are great and it’s much quieter than our previous hood but definitely powerful. So far we are loving this upgrade. We did not use the vent hose it came with but bought an all metal one at our local home store for better greasefire protection. I will say the directions are somewhat lacking, however, if the person installing it knows what they’re doing, it shouldn’t be a problem. We really needed this SNDOAS convertible wall mount range hood for our mid-century home kitchen. As you can see in the last photo, that is the hood we presently have. Needless to say, we are not fond of the looks AND it barely catches the smoke of the food we cook. We can’t wait to get the new hood up. We are waiting for our HVAC contractor to come out to install it. When it is up, I will post before and after pictures of it. I only gave it 4 stars, because I love the look, but I don’t know if it works well yet. I will upgrade the stars if the pull is good. Update We had the contractor install our range hood. It is so pretty, and it works great. We like the fan—it works so much better than our old one. I upgraded the stars to a 5 star rating. On the right and left front of the hood is a feature where you can wave your hand like “wax on, wax off” to turn on or turn off the fan and light. These Proline range hoods are awesome! The 1000 cfm maximum exhaust rate will empty your kitchen of any unwanted particulates. Came as described. We have 9' ceilings and needed the extension. Came as described and looks nice. I would recommend getting a full one piece extension.
