Absolutely adorable bird house. We call it "The White House." We mounted it to a tree just outside of our sunroom, great room and dining room side of the house. And we also hung a bird feeder below it, so excited to see what bird type takes occupancy in their new birdie white house! Tip: Get the bird seed called "Squirrel Away" from Chewy (see pic); otherwise, the squirrels will eat all of the bird seed within a day or two. Love this bird house!!! Detail and quality is amazing! Highly recommended, and arrived in perfect shape. Tip: Before mounting the bird house, I would highly recommend to spray 2-3 coats of poly urethane over the entire house, to protect from the seasonal elements. Happy bird watching!. Debra. CA. The lighthouse birdhouse is a spot-on replica of the famous located at the easternmost point of Long Island, New York. The construction of the lighthouse was authorized by none other than President George Washington and bears the distinction of being the first public works project of the United States. The (in) famous pirate Captain Kidd is said to have buried treasure at the foot of the lighthouse, but it's yet to be found. This red and white lighthouse is a fully functional birdhouse featuring two nest boxes with openings, a removable back for yearly cleaning, drainage, ventilation, and unpainted interiors. The entire structure is built upon a river stone foundation and a custom-fit mounting plate makes installation a snap!

Easy to install, product is intuitive, and lighting on knobs/under unit are awesome. One element that is lacking is the back hi g design. This unit is designed to be built in, and as such costs 4x what a normal Blackstone unit does. The hinge configuration creates a gap on the back edge which is not an ideal transition to your top. Back hinge placement also causes the front of the lid to wobble a bit when opening and closing. Small detail but big one when building a high end outdoor kitchen.
