Nickel

First, you can't really beat Wayfair price with free shipping. The packaging was robust enough to prevent damage to this large and heavy item. The nickel finish is a worthwhile upgrade for a contemporary look. I chose the Lake Mist glass (after viewing choices on Sterling website) which offers a compromise between clear glass and 100 frosted. I like the combination of transparency at top with gradual opacity from a pattern of frosted dots that merge lower on the doors . Doors have a CleanCoat surface on the bath side that have kept them pretty spot free, even with my hard water, although I use a squeegee regularly as well. One of the doors did come with a horizontal line mark on the lower frosted surface, which I assume was from the cardboard packaging rubbing against it. Haven't been able to remove but not very noticeable. Installation took a few hours - measured twice then cut conservatively and used metal file to ensure close fit. Look for YouTube videos for tips on drilling into ceramic tile if your tub surround has it - saved me big headache. Top height is sufficient for average people (I'm 5'10 and clear top crossbar by inches) but over 6' may have to duck on entering this tub door.. Erik. San Antonio, TX. Thu Apr 03 2014

Nice shower door I suppose. I’ve never installed a frameless one before. I did so as you can see from the picture. So far so good. 3/8” glass door feels substantial and it is indeed heavy. Having said that, I would strongly suggest the hinge side be mounted into wall stud. Dreamline provides the anchors and screws. But again, the U channel holds the hinge panel, and the top bracket actually handles the load. Fortunately for me on the rebuilding of the shower I triple studded that wall in preparation for a shower door. 4 stars because the directions are atrocious. They send you manuals for every door in several languages. It’s up to the home owner or installer to pick through the sections that apply. I think that’s cheap and ridiculous. Dreamline should also consider making model specific instructional videos for the buyers (put them online!) That would be extremely helpful. Lastly, the Allen wrenches supplied are quite feeble and cheap. I also recommend having your own hex tools available especially if you need to adjust the over-pivot screws in the hinge. This framed sliding bathtub doors possess proven performance and surpass the competition with their handcrafted quality and additional features. The header comes with a safety T-lock that ensures the unit’s stability. Moderate DIY Skills are recommended for installation of the tub enclosure. To reduce water they recommend placing the interior panel closest to the shower head. Ensure your measurements are precise and finished wall material is in place before measuring for your shower door. The header and rail will be shipped long and will need cut to size during installation. Tools needed to install the door are: tape measure, level, hacksaw, drill, 7/64-inch, 1/8-inch, ¼-inch drill bits, #2 Philips screwdriver, 3/16-inch wrench, sharp knife, and caulking (clear silicone recommended). Looks great. The strip that keeps water from flowing out the bottom of the door isn’t adhesive enough so I’m going to have to glue it down with something stronger. Until I do that, I just keep the door slightly ajar about a 5 degree angle while in the shower (my door opens into the shower) and the water rolls down the door and into the drain. That’s why I’m so glad the hinges were reversible and I could set the door to open into the shower, a big deal because I didn’t have space to open the shower into the room. Also the shower came with more than enough of that strip that goes at the bottom in case I should have to cut another piece I’ll have enough. No other water issues Another reviewer mentioned that it should’ve came with two of those L shaped wall brackets, I agree that would make it more sturdy. It seemed wobbly when it was first assembled but once the silicon was dry it’s pretty solid, you have to be very careful those first few days until it dries though. The glass is beautiful the hinges are not too shiny and look sturdy. I squeegee the glass almost daily because it’s fun but even when I don’t, there aren’t any spots.
