These are really pretty very festive placemats. They are cotton and are printed very nicely. I only gave them 4 stars because I haven't used them yet and I haven't washed them yet. But I have to say I'm not much of a table setter. My Mother was and she did an amazing job especially during the Holidays. So, I am having a intimate Christmas Dinner for my Hubby soon and thought a table setting would be super nice. These placemats look very classy and not trashy and are festive enough not to look like I'm trying too hard! I also ordered these not even a week ago and quite frankly didn't expect them until right before Christmas! They got here super fast! And, were shipped in a nice package and it didn't show what was in it. (Keeping a secret is a big deal in our house!) Anyhoo, I will try to post an update after I use them and after I wash them. Otherwise, I really like the fact that they are heavy material and oversized so the dinner wear sets perfectly on it without covering the placemat.
