After months of researching material, i decided on the fire-clay because i had read it stays very white and bright. I am OBSESSED with this sink. I looked at many sinks before purchasing and nothing compared to a cast iron sink. It is easy to clean with a magic eraser sponge and is slightly slanted I believe so good goes down the drain easier. This sink completed my kitchen renovation and I am so glad I went with this over a cheaper quartz sink, it is worth it in the long run! It is very heavy though and I believe the people that installed my cabinets had to add some extra support to be able to hold the sink so I would look into what weight your cabinets can hold before purchasing. What a gorgeous sink. It’s just as the pictures if not better. We haven’t installed it yet but I’m sure it will be great. The chiseled front looks good, it has a grey color in it since the front is not treated. If you wanted the front to be black you just need to seal the front with a wet sealer. We installed this 5 years ago on a remodel and had looked at the 9" depth in the store and decided on that one. We didn't realize right next to it was the 5" depth and when we went back to order at the plumbing store, accidentally just pointed the 5" depth out in a rush to get it ordered. When it arrived, the plumber pointed it out and said we would hate it and offered to return and reorder, but we had already waited 3 weeks for this one and were eager to be done with the remodel so we opted to keep it. We are 5 years in and wish we had paid more attention and listened to our plumber. The sink, while lovely and works, is not deep enough to counter splashing when washing hands, pots, etc. and so as a result the granite around the sink is already showing signs of hardwater stains that we will have to pay to have polished out. We used this sink in a recent remodel of a 1912 family farmhouse built by my great-grandfather. It was a great choice aesthetically, lending a clean, modern vibe while keeping the charm and tradition of a farmhouse sink. This is a 33" workstation farmhouse fireclay sink. The included accessories feature a bottom grid, cutting board, and drain. The cutting board handily fits on the interior ledge of the sink to make preparation tasks more efficient and clear your counter of clutter. Features an offset drain creating more space below in the base cabinet. The included grid elevates dishware to help water get to the drain and prevent dropped pots from cracking or chipping the sink. The sides of the sink have a slight taper from top to bottom and the basin is sloped for good drainage. Fireclay's glazed surface inhibits bacterial growth more than stainless steel and is eco-friendly requiring fewer cleansers. Classic glossy white glazed finish. Due to the firing process, dimensions are nominal and may vary up to 0.25". Apron-style base cabinet is required to support this sink. A note about fireclay: small cracks will appear on the unglazed underside of the sink, these are cosmetic only and have no impact on the performance of the sink.
