Requiring three master glassblowers’ efforts, the horn’s form is mouth blown with two openings on either end, the larger of which is to be used for both receiving and pouring the wine.

The long, thin shape of the Cornetto makes it perfect for both decanting young wines and removing sediment from older wines. The slim design of this decanter means there is a smaller surface area exposed, so fragile older wines are not overexposed to oxygen. This product is made of clear crystal glass. I purchased 2 of these magnificent lighting units. Plan on a 1-2 day job for your electrician, (2 units took 2 days). They have to reinforce your ceiling with wood between the joists. These fixtures are MAGNIFICENT!. Use only the LED dimmers listed in the installation manual to assure flicker-free dimming. A real plus is that these units use replaceable LED bulbs. Other cheaper units do not, which means on the cheaper units you toss the whole fixture. The lead crystal "pendants" on this are magical. I'm going to post photos. You can adjust the pendant cords to any length/configuration you want. These are on either side of my bed in Master Bedroom. A real show-stopper. The function of the Escargot 49 oz. Wine Decanter is based on the fact of a double aeration effect. The first aeration takes place when the wine is poured out of the bottle into the escargot decanter exposing the content of the bottle to oxygen. Lift the decanter from horizontal to a vertical position to fill the decanter. The second contact with oxygen is triggered when the wine is poured out of the Escargot decanter into the glass. When pouring hold the decanter by the oval indent for conveyance. The decanter construction forces fresh air through the already decanted wine a second time to fill the air space in the decanter. This second aeration process creates a bubbling gurgle when the air is forced through the neck of the escargot decanter.
