[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This outdoor light is much nicer than I expected it to be. It’s very sturdy weather resistant metal with LED light strip encased under lens. It’s pretty cool in that each side metal are like wings. You can put them back against the lamp leaving a wide opening straight in front (shown in my photo) or you can angle them in any position both the same or completely independent per side, all the way until they touch in the middle, which makes it look like a very thin strip of light in the middle and two wider strips on the sides, allowing you to have a different look whenever you want. The other cool options are color tone switchable and dimmable. You have to provide your own switch but they sell a switch that is dimmable as well as 4 position click so you can do both. If you only have your normal in and off switch, you won’t be able to do the dimmable feature, but you can switch between 3000k, 4000k, and 5000k simply by turning off and in to cycle through. This would look nice as a pair- one on each side of the door or each side of the garage door. I even thought it would look nice to have several that were attached to the posts around the deck railing. As you can see in the photo, it’s even bright in daylight. It is hardwired for outdoor use, but if they decide to have an option of a plug in, I think I’d like these as hallway lights, above paintings, over doorways, or even in stairwells since you can angle the lamp“Wings”. This is the perfectly sized LED outdoor light fixture for us. I have taken various shots for you so you have an idea of scale and appearance. It is elegant and understated at the same time, which is what we wanted given that the fixture needed to be right next to an awning, and located in a rather narrow piece of wall as you will observe. It provides beautiful up and down lighting. We wanted a good amount (not glaring) light for ease of access in/out of that door, and wanted to add a bit of interest at that location by incorporating the contemporary (or modern if you will) feature of up/down lighting. We needed something which would not fight our other outdoor fixtures, so this is the perfect fit. If we had a totally contemporary or modern home, I would probably order this for the entire home. The look of the outside of our home is Mediterranean so all of outside has that flare, which is why this particular fixture had to just do its thing as it blended in with the black and white stripped awning, as it also brought in a focal point of interest at that otherwise boring location. It did all of that! Now, this is the replacement light. The first one which came in was installed (as this one) by our electrician. It become hot almost immediately and after not even an hour, I had to turn it off as it was so hot we could hardly touch it and it made the awning very hot. I immediately reported it to Wayfair and they handled it directly with WAC. They sent me this replacement which is perfect. That is why I gave them the full 5 stars. It's not just the product, it was what happened when the one in a million doesn't work well, how they handled that situation. They told me I could keep or pitch the hot one yet I am going to pitch it as there is no way I could use it nor give it to anyone. Again, the replacement is perfect, does not get hot, gives wonderful light as you can see, is a beautiful shade of black, blends well with various styles and could stand beautifully alone if it had to, and I am beyond happy with it.
