This bed has suited our family's needs well, so far. It seems pretty sturdy, isn't too high so I'm not concerned when my 3 year old climbs up. My 5 year old is on the lower bunk and can sit up without hitting her head. The slats on the bottom bunk allow the mattress to be elevated off of the floor. The reason I gave it 4 stars was for assembly. While I found the directions clear, there were two items mislabeled and I did not realize until I was halfway through construction. I had to completely disassemble to fix the issue. So I would recommend double checking the hole placements in the photos along with the labels on each piece to confirm that you are using the correct piece at each step. Another issue that I had was one screw broke during assembly, another has broken off since, and there was 1 screw missing. The bed turned out in the end and we're happy with it. This twin over twin bunk bed with storage stairs is very sturdy and good quality, it was also easy to assemble as instructions were clear. I will say having two people help cuts down build time significantly. The LED lights for the bottom bunk change colors which is a nice add-on and the charging port is movable so I added it to the closest socket. Just make sure to not add it or put baby proofing on it if you have children under 3 in the home for safety reason as it is a loft bed and easily accessible.
