Overall, this floor to ceiling cat tree is a nice addition to my space which gives my girl an advantage to be high when she is curious to see what i'm doing; this is her main purpose for using the tree. She is a soon to be, fifteen year old, healthy cat that is agile enough to jump to and from the second tear and make her way with ease to the top . I believe this is worth mentioning since not all senior or geriatric cats will be able to scale each level going up depending on her or his health; such as if your cat has arthritis. Beside her using it daily as an advantage point to see what i'm doing she also uses it each day as a scratcher. Since each level conveniently comes with sisel columns she has been able to claw and stretch which assists in saving one side of my couch from additional damage. Her paws have gotten stuck a couple of times but she manages to unhinge them. I wouldnt suggest pulling the stockings that go over the top adjustment stilt to far down since my senior has gotten her claws stuck in them when i had them as low as they can go. She was able to, with extra effort, unhinge her claws when this happened but it can still be a safety issue if the stocking covers aren't adjusted correctly. There are two other mentions that were not ideal. The first is more of a personality and i'm sure age related preference which is that my cat does not use the two “upholstered beds" (pockets) since i believe she is weary they lack solid underneath support. She avoids getting in them reducing the platforms used to eight. The second issue is structural. This cat tree is advertised to adjust from 87.7 inches to 114 inches. However, there are a few inches, which i believe are from 102-105 inches where it can be very tedious to tighten from ceiling to floor. My floor to ceiling is within this inch range so i had to get creative by figuring out how to adjust the tree so that it has a tight fit. I had to screw the rod almost all the way in to the last sisel column then place the flat tightening ceiling disk on it which worked well. Even with that tedious issue i was able to ensure the tree is secure and can readjust where i place the cat tree at any time. I've now had the tree for about a month and im happy with this purchase. It seems to be well liked by its user and main critic, my beautiful senior girl cat. Without her approval the purchase would have been pointless. I have a 7 year old boxer who has never been comfortable going into the pool…I spotted this and am thrilled with the idea of offering her this option. It shipped quickly and with no issues. The end result of this 4-in-1 Cat Wheel is 5 stars. However, I am rating this 4 stars because it advertises that assembly is easy. It was anything but easy. For reference, I have assembled over 20 items over the past six months from Wayfair and other retailers and I consider myself pretty apt at assembling just about anything. First, the pros it is a very solid piece, and works great, if my cat will actually use it as intended. The holes, screws and alignment of the parts were perfect! This was very helpful considering the other issues of assembly. It is large enough for my 12 pound Ivy and he is still taking his time checking it out. I am finding it a bit of a challenge as to where I will actually put it. For now it’s in my den. Cons it says it’s lightweight, it is not! It’s solid wood and that is a good thing. It also isn’t easy to tip or move, also a good thing. I recommend using some kind of nonslip padding underneath if you’re placing it on hardwood or ceramic flooring. The instructions leave a lot to be desired. It was all pictures and there were many sections that should have used additional written instructions. I had to undo parts several times as the pictures were difficult to discern positioning and placement of screws and pieces. I was able to figure it out due to the many items assembled and basically looking at the structure to determine what was needed. Note review the WHOLE instruction booklet thoroughly before proceeding. There are sections that are out of order to logistically fit certain pieces. For example, after the wheel is assembled and it’s ready to be placed into the base, part 10 has to be partially lifted in order for the wheel to fit into place. As well, I strongly recommend to place the wheel mat inside the wheel on a flat surface and not after it’s installed. You will need a utility knife to fold in the edges so that it fits snugly and remove the air bubbles. Don’t worry, the knife will not cut the material, it’s extremely durable. I was trying to cut off the excess material from the edges and it didn’t puncture it at all. Instead, it made the material fit nicely along the opposite edge. I haven’t placed the scratch pad yet because there isn’t a space for it to fit. It’s a very awkward shape and doesn’t fit the intended area. Lastly, use your own comfort handle Phillips screwdriver. There are a lot of screws and the one included is not comfortable at all! Overall, this is a nice cat wheel for the price and assembly took me 5 hours.
