This cabinet was pretty straightforward with instructions on how to assemble. It came with all the right supplies, but you may also need a screwdriver to assemble. The tools only come with an Alan wrench. It comes with a lot of tiny little screws that are tedious to screw in. I thought the backing would be the most time consuming to put on, but actually the doors are awfully hard to put on unless you have two people. It did come with a couple of scrapes and discoloration but nothing that is too easy to notice. It did take me 3 hours to assemble by myself. Beautiful cabinet with one major complaint. The bottom of the 4 legs the cabinet stands on have round metal pads screwed into them. Our cabinet stands on a hardwood floor. We had to remove the 4 metal pads when we unpacked the cabinet. We replaced the metal pads with round, felt pads with adhesive on them. These pads allow us to sllide the cabinet without scratching our wooden floor. We've installed these pads on numerous pieces of furniture to protect the floor. However, no other furniture required us to unscrew metal pads like the pads on the buffet cabinet. So, in my opinion, the metal pads are a poor design related factor. I’m really impressed with this cabinet! It is very sturdy and looks even nicer in person. The finish has a rich, high-end look that makes the piece feel much more expensive than expected. I also love all of the storage—it offers a great combination of drawer and cabinet space without looking bulky. The only issue we had was during assembly. The screw holes for one of the drawer slides were in the wrong location, so we had to make our own holes and then cross our fingers that the drawer would still slide properly. Thankfully, it worked perfectly and the drawer operates smoothly! Overall, I’m very happy with this cabinet. It’s attractive, substantial, and provides a ton of useful storage. Took a chance on this one since there weren't many reviews and glad I did. Very solid built. I plan to use this as an aquarium stand for a 35 gallon tank (probably 300lbs) and there won't be any problems. I'm a semi-handy person and I was putting this together on my own then my husband jumped in to help. In total took us maybe an hour. Alone, maybe would take 1.5 hours. And I know doors are always a problem when putting cabinets together and this one was not a problem. Lined up pretty well without much fuss. Black walnut color is spot on. Not too dark like some can be. You can still see the grain. And this is solid wood too. Not that cheap particle board stuff. Came with 2 shelves but I only put one in. The plant pot is a bright white color so you can see what the stain color looks like. Side note: I very much appreciate that nearly all of the packaging is recyclable. There was no styrofoam.. Jenny. This had some issues arriving here - and needed to be reordered. The replacement order arrived and it was straight forward to set up; with ok/standard instructions. It just several pieces to put together. It took about 1.5 hours to set up and it looks like the picture advertised.
