Ahhh..my cast sailboat bell! I just love this! I bought this over a year ago and attached it to the gate coming into the house. I love it every day. I get a kick out of ringing it from time to time. This weathervane was handcrafted with pride in Alabama. The individual components are plasma cut from steel and then welded together. They are then dipped in 2 coats of rust-resistant paint for a long-lasting, durable finish, can easily be bent to match the pitch of your roof, fit around a post, or even be bent flat for placement on a wooden deck rail or shelf.

I bought this as gift for my son in law. He said it is very high quality and a great gift.. Elizabeth. Albuquerque, NM. Sat Jan 18 2020

Just to be clear, I did not request a replacement weathervane and I did not receive one. I called Wayfair because I could not see assembly instructions or screws through the clear plastic which enclosed the pieces of the weathervane. I did not want to open the packaging in case I needed to return the item. After a short hold, I was advised that the missing items would be sent to me. I did send a photo of the unwrapped item, as requested. The next day I opened the packaging and realized that assembly of the product was actually very simple, using the picture on the website as a guide, and the only screws required were the 6 screws to attach the weathervane to the cupola, which I purchased at a local hardware store. The attachment piece was not suitable for my cupola, so a friend was able to fabricate it to fit. I am very pleased with the way the project turned out. My only suggestion would be for the supplier to include a simple 1 page print-out or a pdf on-line for assembly in the product description, as well as a note indicating that attachment screws are not included.. Weathervanes have been looked up to for hundreds of years. Popular in Europe, weathervane is valued for the function as much as the design. Farmers, seafarers, and others would watch the weathervane to get the weather forecast by paying close attention to changes in breathing, an indicator of bad or good weather. It is a hand-crafted fully-functional weathervane. Yes, it will still tell you if the wind is changing direction and will look great doing so.

Beautiful! Love it.. Anonymous. Abingdon, MD. Tue Sep 08 2020
