I looked long and hard to find a hood like this. The suction of this hood is very good. Cleaning the filters is easy. They are removable and can be washed in the sink. There are three different levels of exhaust suction, even the lowest setting is suitable for most kitchen tasks. I like the brightness of the built-in lights. They have a warm color to them.. Great downdraft vent! Rises high enough to pull most smoke and steam away from all pans, much of it from the front burners, but the back burners are a no-brainer - nothing escapes, especially when the fan is turned to high. Fan control is smoothly variable from almost silent to roaring hurricane strength. Recommend that you use a large diameter vent to the outside to prevent back pressure (we have a 6" adapted down at the fan). I am very happy with this hood. The quality of build seems solid, installation instructions were very clear, and it I think it looks great. It takes some planning and work to get it installed. You have to make sure your ceiling joists and ductwork is going the right direction or be prepared to do some modifications. I have a soffit and had to take down a bunch of drywall to modify the framing, run the 14/3 romex for the light/fan and modify the ducting. Then I replaced the drywall, taped, texture, paint and installed the hood. Fortunately it all came together nicely. I was able to held the hood in place while my wife drive the screws into the framing. I think it will be worth it in the end because the hood won’t be blocking the view in front of our cooktop.. This thing is fancy! It even has a remote control! I love that you can change the fan speeds and the light intensity with a simple touch. It took a bit to install it and I had to get a reducer for the duct because previously we had 7" and this was 6". It is very quiet and you can have a conversation with it on, which was next to impossible with my old vent hood. I really like this. Awful, this company has directions that don't match what they ship you. The touch screen buttons do not work or maybe 1 out of every very 10 pushes and since they refuse to share pictures of the hood you get a nasty surprise that there are ugly vents on the top of the range which limit how far in you can slide the range and it has to stick out about 2 inches more than amy other hood works. These are made in Italy to some other specs and it's a huge let down for an insane price not to mention non-functional. I will be returning, what a colossal waste of time.. Laura. Hancock, NH.
