The hybrid construction also gives it a more substantial feel than I expected for the price. I also like that it sleeps fairly temperature-neutral. The cooling gel layer seems to help, especially compared to traditional memory foam mattresses that can trap heat. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that it was a little firmer than I initially expected, so it may take some time to break in depending on your preference. It’s still comfortable, just not as plush as some buyers might assume. This king-size mattress (medium firm) in a box was a good choice! The top material is a nice grey color, with a honeycomb padding which is a nice change from the old fashion white mattresses. Once fully expanded out of the box it puffed up almost completely, however I let it sit for 24 hours as instructed prior to sleeping on it. The upper layer of pillow top has a cooling feature which actually is exactly as described! I discovered this feature the first night sleeping on it. We were looking for a firm mattress in originally purchased a Beautyrest Black. Was very disappointed with it and sent it back and replaced it with our Sterns and foster firm pillow top. The difference is that with the beauty rest it was firm, but actually quite hard. After just a couple nights of sleeping, a divot formed in the mattress, which shouldn’t happen. The Stearns and Foster is firm, but the pillow top gives it a little bit of soft comfortable feeling. While the mattress does conform a bit to your body, The, divots in the mattress aren’t quite as noticeable as with the beautyrest. Pro tip: purchase your mattresses online directly from the manufacturer site. Delivery was a breeze, and you won’t need to pay a large return fee to a furniture store. Fast delivery, came in a large box and unrolled seamlessly. Definitely give it the 72 hours to expand for firmness. I gave it four star based on one thing, the edge not being firm enough, otherwise I’m sleeping great on this mattress! So what is not to love about this mattress. I got it for the best price in history...my opinion. While everybody rushes out to get an all foam mattress, I've noticed that with my other 16 inch mattress, it has developed soft/softer spots. It still feels great but the support is not there. I feel that a hybrid is the way to go just like your car. Nobody wants an all gas car with these prices but if you had a hybrid, you can have more flexibility. I went to the mattress stores and tested several and could not find a more comfortable or reasonably price mattress that can stand the test of time. It has only been a short while but I can already tell the difference. Being a plus size person, this mattress provides the sturdyness to hold the weight and the softness for a good night's sleep.
