I like the customizable shelves. Plan ahead take inventory of the sizes and weights of the things (storage tubs, boxes, etc.) you want to store to decide the perfect sizing for the shelves because once you build it, you don’t want to dismantle it for adjustments. Also, assemble this in the place you plan to keep it. The shelves are lined with particle board, which is flimsy but not concerning for me given this unit sits in a dark storage closet. I am extremely happy with this iron pipe wall mount shelving system. The design is beautiful and exactly what I was looking for—very sturdy, industrial farmhouse style with clean lines that instantly elevates the space. The black iron piping feels heavy-duty and well-made, not flimsy at all, and once mounted properly, it feels very secure and strong. Assembly was straightforward and well worth the effort. All the metal components fit together nicely, and the mounting points lined up perfectly. I appreciate that this system allows flexibility in choosing your own wood shelves, which lets you customize the look to match your home. I used solid wood boards, and the final result looks high-end and custom-built. One very important thing to note (and not a negative—just something buyers should be aware of) the wooden shelves are NOT included. You will need to purchase or cut your own boards separately. This actually ended up being a positive for me because I was able to select the exact wood tone, thickness, and finish I wanted. However, if you’re expecting an all-in-one kit, keep this in mind before ordering. Once installed, the shelves hold a great amount of weight and are perfect for decor, books, plants, and storage. Great solid unit assembly notes. These are very well made. Using in my office lobby. The back pieces are 12 thick wood pieces just like the shelves (not a cheap cardboard backer). The base and top are one piece but hollow underneath. It looks nice enough from the back side that, if you wanted it to show, it would work. The holes for the screws are drilled with a recessed area so the screw heads sink in flat and there are sticker covers that match perfectly. These are intended to cover the lock nuts but could be used either way. The first page of the instructions threw me of a bit because it refers to a plastic hole plug that does not exist. Ignore that and move on. And when it says to lay the assembled unit on its back, dont do that. You cant get the holes lined up because theres an offset. Just keep the shelves up sideways and put the metal sides on from the top down. Flip and do side 2. Much easier. And before you try to screw the top and bottom on, poke the screws through the holes before starting.
