With the exception of one assembly step, this was a straightforward one strong person unpacking and assembly. At one point they want you to have the base stood up on its side so that the pillars can be slid through the holes in the bale. I made a support of the shipping boxes to support the then horizontal heavy pillars parallel to the floor while I attached them. ALSO: do the later steps that require you to work at the bottom while the stand is already on its side. The motor runs smoothly but I haven't attached tho 100" screen to it yet—I don't expect that will be a problem. This was pretty easy to assemble, I completed the the assembly in just about 20 minutes. The instructions were straightforward and simple to understand. All tools needed came with the lectern, however I do recommend using your own Philips screwdriver to put it together a bit quicker. The top part of the lectern had a nice smooth black wood finish look to it. The top part of the lectern that can hold paper is sturdy, definitely strong enough to hold a laptop if needed. The bottom tray is not as sturdy as the top shelf but is still strong enough to hold a cell phone or a few pens.
