Well, we just got 18” of snow here so this unit is not going to be installed any time soon but I’m really looking forward to trying it. We have relatives that have these in hot weather and they work great to cool a room without having to have the expense of having a central unit or pay the electric bill for cooling the entire house. The inverter option is great for climates that have short winters for the same reason noted above, no furnace needed! Heat up a room for the cold hours of the night and that’s it. The remote is a must, but these work great with the thermostat so just set the temperature you’re comfortable with and that’s it! Been using the 20x25x4 for multiple years now. Filters work great, I replace mine every 90 days in my house. Never had any issues or concerns about quality or construction of the filters. I've seen many complaints about the 1" thick filters and while I understand their concerns; a 1" thick filter is old technology and should consider getting a larger filter box. I find the complaints about the tabs holding the pleats in the filter where you may have to push a few back trivial. You're buying a MERV 11 equivalent disposable filter, again DISPOSABLE. It wasn't long ago when everyone was just using the blue fiberglass air filters.. There is a balance between retail cost and manufacturing cost. I've had mine for several years and have been very pleased with it in the last month I've had an issue with it reading a code of F1 and F2 and when I got to talk to somebody from Bissell they said that the machine is no more made and they couldn't help me with figuring out the issue I have to take it in for service other than that it's worked great and it still works now just replace the filters.
