In the winter, if a planter is to remain planted, it should be raised up off the ground making sure not to block the drainage hole. This allows the planter to drain and will prevent the planter from freezing to the ground. If the planter is not to be planted, it should be brought inside a garage or shed. If this is not possible, follow the steps above, but turn the planter upside down to prevent it from filling with snow and ice. It should then be covered or wrapped with burlap or any absorbent material and then wrapped with dark plastic to prevent it from accumulating moisture.

I’ve ordered 3 of these and assembled 2 so far. The structure, design, style are top-notch. I assembled them indoors and within 5 minutes of rolling them outdoors had three neighbors complimenting me on them. The bases need weight in them, which is their intention. But without the weight they can be tippy with the wind. Unfortunately one of the two that I’ve unpackaged so far arrived with a few significant scratches. I dropped a star solely for that reason. Otherwise these are exactly what I was hoping for. When it comes to assembling, I never recommend this, but you’re probably better off skipping the instructions and just looking it over and going with logic. When I assembled the first one I puzzled over the confusing directions and ended with having to put wheels on the bottom of a giant structure.
