Well I only gave a 4 star, due to its lack of ability to recall if needed. It's still a little chunky around a Dachshunds neck, but my Thor at 8 months old didn't seem to mind it. We installed the PetSafe invisible fence system 2 years ago. The directions were easy to follow and It was easy to install. We trained our cat on this invisible fence and we haven't had him leave the premises since. With this system he gets to run around and play in a large area (about an acre), but stays within the boundaries we set for him. When we got our puppy, we purchased an additional collar and we trained him on it as well. He also stays withing the set perimeter. The system has continued to work flawlessly over the last two years with no issues. We love the system as it gives our pets freedom but is keeping them contained to our property and safe.. Starb. This is Lupita, an escape artist disguised as a spunky mini schnauzer. She had managed to wedge her way out of any tiny gap in our fence. Our fence was lined with rocks and stones in an attempt to keep her in but she still dug around them UNTIL...my husband found this!!!! Twisted wire cancels the signal field and does not trigger your dog's receiver collar. You need twisted wire to connect your boundary loop to the transmitter and to create safe zones where your dog can safely cross buried wire. It also allows you to create smaller boundaries within your yard to keep Fido away from the pool, flower beds and other off-limits areas.
