Absolutely perfect... we replaced 2 small can lights with pendants. The pendants needed to be spaced differently and this added a finished look and did not require us to have to make a ceiling repair and paint the entire ceiling. Recently installed a new ceiling fan. Works well but visable mounting screws on the side detract from appearance Split medallion to the rescue! Inside diameter of the medallion 5 inches. Outside fan diameter 5 1/4 inches. Trouble !. Down to the work shop where medallion ID opened to 9/32. Amazing...I grappled with buying these columns for 2 years, because of the non-refundable policy, so I had to be sure. I have a small porch so I knew I couldnt get the columns to wide or the proportions would look odd. So I used makeshift cardboard and the like to determine what to buy...I made the best decision with the 5.63 width columns they look amazing. My contractor bought 5 wood post from our local big box store and used brackets to install them on the porch. He used his nail gun to fasten each wrap to the wood post, he said it was rather simple to install. Next he caulked all the small nail gun holes and painted ( per instructions for winter protection) looks amazing.
