I had ordered two of these from another company (A-Z). They were packaged really bad and one was broken. I then ordered one from Wayfair and all though it was packaged so much better with extra packaging it was broken in half . I think that the company that makes them doesn't ship them to retailers very well. That being said my contractor was able to glue it cause it was cleanly broken and you can't tell. They are really beautiful just order early cause you may have to go through a few to get good ones . I'm very happy I got them they really add a lot to my mantle .. Christina Olivieri. Nicely constructed.. Anonymous. Thu Jul 23 2026

Niches have been used in homes for almost 2000 years, first made of white marble in Nero's home. Most niches are still white, and for many years were mostly made of plaster. Now that many modern architectural products are made of urethane, custom millwork and details such as recessed niches have become affordable for any home improvement project. Niches are distinctive architectural accents. Often used to display sculptures, vases, clocks, plants and flowers, niches are beautiful and functional details that add value to any home interior. They are often used in main hallways, dining rooms, foyers, and staircases. An important aspect of a niche is its ability to concentrate or disperse light, so its placement should be based on the availability of light, either sunlight or interior lighting fixtures. Ceiling accent lights are often added as a compliment above a niche. Niches made of urethane can be easy to install for anyone, simply cut a hole in the drywall and place the niche inside. These niches will also require little maintenance in the future, and offer beauty and value to your home for decades to come. Ekena Millwork offers niches in varying heights, widths, and depths to fit the scale of your home.

Attached is a pic of the installed brackets. Unfortunately,we no longer own this house so I can't send more pictures. But the brackets were the finishing touch to all of the mill work that I installed in the home. When we sold the house our realtor said that the mill work was a deciding factor in the buyers choosing our house. I was impressed with the quality and ease of installation. If I remember correctly, I used construction adhesive to install them and did not use any fasteners of any type. They really added that finishing touch to the beam between our kitchen and dining room. I would rate the quality five stars! Ordering was a breeze and I appreciated all the measurements that were listed on the website as it helped me to choose the correct size.. Greg M. Mon Dec 09 2019
