It's almost perfect for where I put it. I have a very high (~12') octagonal window in my bedroom, and it's impossible to find a shade that's right for it. But the sun shines in that window right in my eyes and wakes me up at 6am every morning, so I wanted to cover that window without making it look ridiculous. I have white plantation shutters on the lower windows, so it looks nice with those. The reason I didn't give it a higher rating is because there was a choice between "functional" and "non-functional" versions of this cover, but the terms weren't defined. I assumed they meant that functional has moving slats, and non-functional was slats that don't move. So I ordered the functional version to be sure I could close them all the way But what they meant was that functional has holes between the slats (for allowing airflow in an attic, I guess), and non-functional is solid - no holes. I should have gotten the non-functional version, because it would have blocked all the light. But I couldn't wait another day to get rid of that early morning light, so I just installed it right away and started getting the benefit of blocked light in the morning. The medallion arrived on time and was well-packaged, arriving in good condition. Overall, it looks nice and should work well for my project. nicely made polystyrene pieces which are well designed, but require an expert carpenter for a quality installation due to slight variations from piece to piece, injected molded from similar but not identical molds. Per my carpenter, these were convenient, but required a tremendous of finesse and adjustments at every miter joint to look right. Quality glue (PL Premium) and a solid substrate that will not move (a grid of 1x3's glued and screwed to ceiling joists) are essential for stability. Overall "a wash" in terms of time and expense compared to having full boxes and mouldings constructed the old fashioned way. For the curved bay windows straight pieces needed to be hollowed out, bent, and carefully glued and tacked in place under high tension. It comes ready to install, painting is not required, however, to maintain uniform color we recommend painting with 100% acrylic latex paint. Fasten your PVC with standard PVC cement and stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized nails using common wood­working tools. Because PVC won't absorb water, it's perfect for installing directly to masonry or below ground level (basements), which is not always possible with wood or composite material. Feel good using a green product too, making it both economical and environmentally friendly.

We order the millwork crown moulding to marry our plaster crown moulding.We enduring a car running into end of our home..We had to replace 15 feet that was damaged and it worked beautifully with contractor using these in pinch.Very thankful for this product. You cannot tell the difference in plaster and the Medway crown.In the picture at least one third of the crown moulding is this product and rest is plaster created by Davis PlasterArt in 2013.. Lynda.
